100,000 LITRES OF ILLICIT BREW DESTROYED IN KISII SOUTH SUB-COUNTY [VIDEO]
OCPD warned that stiff competition will be taken against those aiding illicit liquor brewers.
Over 100,000 litres of Illicit brew was destroyed during a crackdown by kisii South sub-county OCPD and over 100 police officers, in several regions within Kisii South sub-county in what he termed as an operation to end illicit brew trade within kisii County.
The law enforcers invaded the local brews at Bomorenda and other surrounding areas within the sub county. The impromptu raid also saw a destruction of manufacturing sites. The outlawed substances that were being mass-produced at night were inside several drums and jerry cans that were buried underground.
According to the OCPD of Kisii sub County Charles Machinji, they were not able to arrest the perpetrators, who were fortunate to escape. However he warned them that if caught they will be arraigned before a court of law to answer for their illegal acts.

“Leo tumekua na exercise kubwa sana katika vita vya hii pombe haramu, tulianza kazi saa kumi na moja asubuhi. Niko na officers zaidi ya mia moja,tumeanza Bomorenda na tangu tuanze asubuhi tumetembea vituo sita na tumeharibu pombe zaidi ya lita elfu mia moja,” he told Getembe TV. He further promised to continue with the operation while cautioning locals against consuming the brew saying that it is prepared under unhygienic conditions.He also warned that stiff action will be taken against those manufacturing and selling illicit brew.
