Ginger is used to aid in digestion, reduce nausea and help fight flu and common cold. It is highly used to treat nausea especially morning sickness. It may help relieve nausea and vomiting effectively for people undergoing certain types of surgery. It can also chemotherapy related nausea. Ginger is however highly effective when it comes to pregnancy-related nausea such as morning sickness. Even though ginger is safe, it is advisable to always talk to your doctor before consuming large amounts if pregnant. Women who have had a miscarriage or who are close to labor are advised to avoid ginger since it has an history of vaginal bleeding and clotting disorders.
