COVID-19 CONTAINMENT MEASURES AND BODABODA OPERATORS.
The Bodaboda business is affected by the new additional restrictions such as curfew hours 7pm to 4am put in place by government to contain corona virus.

Following the recent presidential press adress on the new covid-19 containment measures on 18th June 2021,Kisii County is among the fifteen counties in Nyanza Province that were named a "hotspot zone".This adress followed alot of tough restrictions which made it hard for the people in Kisii County and the other affected zones to continue with their normal business conduct. This is because the official curfew hours were reduced from 10pm to 7pm.
Among the businesses most affected include Transport and small enterprises,there is also restrictions on opening hours of clubs and hotels ,Ban of gatherings.Kisii is a county with the most bodaboda operators and a huge section of them have claimed that their normal routine has been affected by the new measures. The Bodaboda operators are complaining that the the police are harrasing them by chasing them away before the curfew hours. They are saying that they have loans to pay and families to provide which the police are depriving them from their main source of income therefore they are requesting the government to chip in the situation and shift the curfew hours.
