FIRE RAGES DOWN PROPERTY WORTH Ksh. 3 MILLION IN BIRONGO, KEUMBU SUB- COUNTY
Property razed to ashes in Birongo, Keumbo Sub-County

On Sunday 27th the residents of Birongo Village, Keumbo Sub-County were appalled after property of worth estimated to be Ksh. 3 Million was reduced to ashes by fire whose cause was unknown. The residents speculated the cause of the fire was faulty electricity.

The residents also stated that the other cause of the fire would have been rivalry between the two communities disputing the land which hosted the properties. They claimed that either of the communities would have ignited the fire so as to damage the properties of their nemesis.

The residents also claimed that some of the properties would have been salvaged been salvaged because though they earlier contacted the fire fighters their response wasn’t quick causing the fire to reduce the properties to ashes.

The residents whose properties were burnt down requested the Kisii County Government to solve the dispute and also to consider building them other structures and also to provide them with capital to reignite their businesses as it is their main source of income.
