With less than 7 months left to the 2022 general elections, the kisii gubernatorial race is heating up with prominent politicians declaring their candidature others striving hard to sway masses towards their side.

A good number of politicians have Risen to the occasion all with an aim of taking over from the current Governor James ongwae who is set to exit after completing his two terms tenure.
Among those interested is the current member of parliament for Nyaribari Masaba Ezekiel Machogu, who is banking on his development record at the constituency as he strives to woe kisii County residents to back is bid.
The MP who emerged fifth in the recent national constituency development ranking, said the record puts him in a good stead to enhance service delivery and push the county forward when he secures the seat.
Ezekiel machogu was previously a district commissioner before he decided to try his hand on politics, winning the hearts of Nyaribari Masaba Residents in the 2018 polls thereby becoming the MP.

In a recent interview on EBUSE 2022 on Getembe TV and radio, Machogu said that he has made huge efforts and contributions to uplifting the lives of Nyaribari Masaba locals for the past four years and now has a bigger calling to become the next governor of kisii County.
"Our people are in need of development something that I am good at, it is evident from what I have done in my constituency," he said.
The member of parliament stated that he had worked hard and achieved admirable progress adding that he possesses the values to lead kisii County.
Asked why he had chosen John Billy momanyi to be his running mate despite the fact that he hails from the smallest clan in Kisii
Machogu said that his politics are not based on Clanism but rather service delivery and that Billy and him share the same ideologies which will uplift the County.
If elected he said, he will ensure that all clans within kisii County get equal shares of seats and Resources.
Machogu donated a bus to Bong'onta secondary school and another one at Mokorogoinwa secondary in separate events on Tuesday.
