JAKOYO MIDIWO'S MEMORIAL SERVICE ATTENDED BY MANY FROM FAMILY,FRIENDS TO POLITICAL AFFILIATES.
The late Jakoyo Midiwo's memorial service was packed to the brim by family,friends to political affiliates.Key issues discussed including NASA's call for unity from various leaders.
A memorial service was held yesterday at CITAM Valley road church following the demise of former Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo.The late member of parliament died on June 14th 2021 due to Kidney failure while seeking medical treatment at the Nairobi hospital. The service was packed with family, friends and political affiliates of the late lawmaker. Among them included ODM leader Raila Odinga, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi.The minority leader of the National assembly, John Mbadi was also present accompanied by Makadara MP George Aladwa,Gatanga MP Joseph Nduati and Gem MP Elisha Odhiambo.
The leaders among them,John Mbadi called for unity among the former NASA principals. In his words,ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi characterized Jakoyo Midiwo as flamboyant, stylish and a leader who was passionate about the country. The former prime minister Raila Odinga also eulogized the late lawmaker as a True Kenyan who was very active in politics since he was young. Apart from that, the leaders called for unity among Kenyans during the upcoming elections set for next year.

His family also gave tribute to him with his wife eulogizing him as a caring father and described his good nature as one that attracted many people. She described his commitment to politics. His children also appreciated him and gave moving tributes to him as a good father.
The family spokesperson,Dr.George Midiwo(elder brother to the deceased)stated that the remains of the late law-maker would be transported through plane from Wilson Airport to Kisumu International airport in Kisumu County. The body would later be moved to his home in Gem constituency, Siaya County where the burial is expected tomorrow 26th June 2021.The burial is set to take place with close adherence to COVID-19 regulations.
The late Member of Parliament was a vibrant politician who served as the Gem Mp for three terms between 2002 and 2017.
