MAN FINED SH80,000 FOR STEALING HIS NEIGHBOUR’S WIFE'S UNDERWEAR

A 34 year-old man from Embu and a father-of-two has been sentenced to one year in prison or a fine of 80,000 shillings for stealing his neighbours wife's underwear.

Paul Mugendi the accused, had earlier denied stealing the undergarments on May 28th last year at Mikimbi Village in Embu North sub-county.

According to the court documents, Mugendi allegedly broke into Juliet Mawira's home and stole 6 inner pants worth Shillings 1500.

Mawira told the court's magistrate that on the material day, she found one of her underwear near the window and then realised that someone had broken into her the compound at around 11 p.m. after reviewing the CCTV footage.

She added that since it had been raining her and her husband followed the footprints to the house of the accused who happened to be their neighbour of more than 20 years.

The court found the prosecution had proven beyond reasonable doubt their case considering, the amount of evidence and exhibit tabled and therefore Mugendi was declared guilty and sentenced to one year in jail or pay Sh80,000 fine and was given 14 days to appeal.
