RED CROSS SOCIETY OF KENYA WARNS OF LOOMING FLOODS

The Kenya Red Cross Society of Kenya is Warning of a looming crisis in many parts of the country occasioned by floods and drought.

Kenya Red Cross Society Secretary General Dr. Aisha Muhamed said there’s need to put in place adequate mitigation measures in place to avert the looming crisis before lives are lost.

This comes after the 2021 assessment by the Kenya Food Security steering group coming up with a report that, over 1.4 million people are facing food crisis that is caused by floods and droughts in some parts of the Country.

The ongoing rains have already caused flash floods in areas around Lake Victoria and Tana Delta leaving hundreds of families homeless.
