SHOCK IN EURO 2020 AS FRANCE EXITS IN THEIR ROUND OF 16 GAME THROUGH PENALTY SHOOT-OUTS
Switzerland after winning the penalty shoot outs versus France after Mbappe's shot was saved.

On 28th June at the National Arena Bucharest the Euro 2020 round of 16 matches was hosted in which France was to face Switzerland. France who is the current World Cup Champions was expected to skirmish the Swiss team as they had not lost any match since the beginning of Euro Cup. The Swiss team was thrashed at the group stages by Italy thus were considered to be susceptible to defeat.

France had a solid squad in which the speedy Mbappe and Karim Benzema played as the forwards in the game with a solid midfield consisting of Pavard, Pogba, Kante, Griezman and Rabiot while the Swiss squad had a forward of H. Seferovic and B. Embolo and a center midfielder the talented Xherdan Shaqiri. Both teams also had talented substitutes as the French team had the Chelsea player Olivier Giroud and fellow teammates as Swiss had the Vfl Wolfsburg defender Kevin Mbabu.

The matched kicked off at 0900hrs Kenyan Time in which the Swiss team were the ones who scored first by a header goal by Haris Seferovic  at the but later also they were offered a penalty in which Loris saved to deny the Swiss a goal. At the 57TH minute Karim Benzema came to the help of THE French team by scoring thus making it a draw. It didn’t take long for the French Benzema to score another header goal to put them ahead on the 59th minute.

Pogba scored a perfect screamer that amazed the audience and had the French team happily celebrating as they were 15 minutes shy away from elimination. On the 81st minute the talented Haris Seferovic scored a brace that made the Swiss to be only one goal behind the French team. Hell broke loose when Mario Gavranovic scored at the 90th minute equalizing the game score leading to the extra time.

At extra time the French players attacked fiercely as their counterparts also made attempts to score but all was futile and lead to a penalty shoot-out of five asides. Both teams picked their best five for the shootout and the Swiss team scored all shoots while the French team’s Kyllian Mbappe the Paris Saint Germaine striker’s penalty was saved by Y. Sommer thus getting them eliminated out of Euro.

Euro elimination’s round of 16 continues today with England facing Germany while Sweden faces Ukraine and the winners of the games join the other teams in the quarter final games that are set to happen on 2nd and 3rd July before proceeding to semifinals.
