Gusii Leaders From Azimio and Kenya Kwanza Meet To Discuss Future of Abagusii
The leadership of the Abagusii legislative arm convened for a dinner meeting last night, aimed at reflecting on past challenges and strategizing for the future.
The event underscored their commitment to working cohesively to address the common needs of the Gusii region amid the evolving political landscape.
South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro noted that the event was also designed with a motive to reflect on the leaders’ goofs and devise strategies so that they don’t happen again.
“As abagusii legislative arm leadership, we met over dinner last night to not only plan for the future, but also reflect on our past failures. We hold together, learn together, strengthen our synergy and help define the direction our region should take going forward.” Said Mr. Osoro
The majority WHIP also added that the political divisions between the leaders are temporary but the region is permanent hence calling for togetherness.
“With the new 'normal' in political cycles, it will be abnormal of us to sit pretty calm bila our input. Our diversity in opinion is temporary, but our region's needs are COMMON. We must define our path together.” added Sylvanus.
The meeting was attended by leaders from Kenya Kwanza coalition which is the ruling party and others were from the Azimio party coalition which plays the opposition role.
Special guest of the day was Solicitor General Hon.Shadrack Mose.
Among other leaders were Nyamira women rep Jerusha Momanyi, Kisii women Rep Donya Toto, Nyamira senator Okong’o Mogeni, Nominated UDA senator Essy Okenyuri
MPs who were present included, West Mugirango MP Steve Mogaka, Nyaribari Chache MP Zaheer Jhanda, Kitutu Chache South MP Anthony Kibagendi, Bonchari MP Charles Onchoke, Kitutu chache North MP Japhet Nyakundi, Bomachoge chache MP Obadiah Barongo, North Mugirango Mp Joash Nyamoko and Kitutu Masaba MP Clive Gisairo.
Mp for Nakuru Town west Samuel Arama and Gloria Orwoba also attended the gathering.
The gathering provided a platform for open dialogue, allowing members to share diverse opinions while recognizing that their differences are temporary compared to the pressing needs of the Abagusii community.
During the dinner, the leaders emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration.
The evening concluded with a renewed commitment among the leadership to prioritize the needs of the Abagusii people and to work towards a more cohesive and responsive governance structure. They vowed to focus on collaborative efforts that will drive progress and prosperity for the region.
