If you voted yes on the finance bill be prepared to go home in 2027 - Gusii MCAs

Masige west MCA Jacob Bagaka and his counterpart from Bassi central, Henry Moracha  have now claimed  MPs who voted yes for the controversial finance bill don’t care about lives of Kenyans.

Speaking during an event in Kisii, the MCAs noted that Kisii people should use this chance to gauge on which leader should go home in 2027 very early in the morning.

The members of Kisii county assembly added that Gusii people should be vigilant on whom they will elect in the next elections noting that they should choose leaders who will fight for their rights.

“We are currently experiencing anti- finance bill demonstrations in Kenya. Things are getting tougher and rougher every day. This implies that if we can’t move forward with one accord and fight for our rights, no one will fight for us” said Henry moracha.

“Recently, we all saw doctors put down their tools and neglect their duties demanding fir their salaries. You as a common mwananchi with no job you have nothing to protest for” said Bassi central MCA.

“The young people in these demos are fighting for the betterment of all Kenyans’ lives. As youths we strongly reject the Finance Bill. The demos are on and president Ruto must listen to us because he has no choice” demanded hon. Moracha

On the other side, Jacob added that the finance bill keep crippling the lives of Kenyans economically.

“I support these Gen Z on the streets as leaders, we can’t make laws that oppress the Kenyans who voted for us but instead work hard for them to ensure we raise their standards of living. Said hon. Bagaka.

He went on to say,

“We reject the finance bill as it affects our people directly in issues like NHIF. It’s not logic to expect a jobless youth to pay a Mandatory monthly fee for NHIF”.

“All those Gusii leaders who were either bribed or voted willingly to vote for the finance bill while putting our people’s lives at stake should not be voted for in 2027 because our people will suffer under this punitive finance bill.” Added Masige West MCA.

The finance bill was passed last week to the third hearing after 204 MPs voted YES. The third hearing is expected to be done on Tuesday 25th June 24, 2024 after which some amendments will be done before it gets passed or rejected.
