France secured a place in the semi-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a commanding 2-0 victory over Morocco at Boston Stadium in Foxborough. The result ended Morocco’s impressive run in the tournament.
After a tightly contested first half, France broke the deadlock in the 60th minute when captain Kylian Mbappé scored to give Les Bleus a deserved lead. Just six minutes later, Ousmane Dembélé added a clinical second goal in the 66th minute, effectively sealing the win.
France dominated the statistics, recording 22 shots (9 on target) compared to Morocco’s 5 shots (1 on target). Didier Deschamps’ side completed 476 passes with an excellent 92% accuracy, while maintaining strong defensive discipline.
Morocco edged the possession battle with 52% and attempted more passes (498 at 88% accuracy), but struggled to create meaningful chances against France’s organized defense. Both teams won 5 corners each. Morocco received the match’s only yellow card, with no red cards, offsides, or other major disciplinary issues for either side.
The victory sends France into the semi-finals, where they will face the winner of the Spain vs Belgium quarter-final. For Morocco, the defeat marks the end of another memorable World Cup campaign that showcased their fighting spirit on football’s biggest stage.
