BODY OF A MIDDLE AGED WOMAN FOUND IN A WELL RIGOMA NYAMIRA COUNTY
Investigations on going over the corpse of a middle aged woman that was found in a well
Police officers from Keroka police station, Masaba sub county in Nyamira county are investigating the circumstance under which a middle aged woman was found in a neighbour's well.
The body was discovered by a school going pupil who encountered difficulties in fetching water and decided to inform the rest of the family members. They later called the neighbours who collaborated together and the whole village got the information.
On the arrival of the police the body had already been extracted from the well and was identified as Agnes Monyenye.
The body had knife stabs on her face a clear indication that she was murdered somewhere and dumped in that said well. While on that ,blood stains were found in different parts of that homestead.
According to the assistant chief Kenyerere location Maosa Omagwa, the late Agnes Monyenye was a known drunkard and despite that, she had never recorded any indispline case that could have led to her murder. He also said that it was the first time recording such case in his village and it is strange .
Currently the neighbours who are also the owner of the well are left with fear because of the unusual act and are forced to cover up the well which was their source of water.
The family of the deceased are appealing to the authority to fasten the investigation to grant them justice.
