How A 'Drunk' Villager Revealed The Shallow Grave Of Murdered Kisii Granny

After nearly a month long search, the family of the deceased 52 year granny has finally discovered the shallow grave of their mother in Kisii's Mwembe estate.
The deceased, only identified as Zipporah went missing two months ago. The family of the deceased was only made aware of the missing mother after she failed to collect rent for two months from her rental houses within Mwembe Estate.
Zipporah who lost her husband few years ago, had been cohabiting with the elderly man within for close to two year. The man is the currently being held at Kisii Central Police Station as the main suspect.
Before her allegedly brutal murder, the late used to frequent certain illicit brew dens within Mwembe and had made friendship with a number of locals.
Monday morning when her body was discovered, one of her female friend requested to be bought a glass of Chang'aa (illicit brew) before she could allegedly reveal where the woman had been buried.
By Monday evening, the deceased's family and the local administration had identified the exact location of the 'grave'.
They informed police who proceeded to court to seek an exhumation order.
A brother in-law to the late, Sospter Arasa says the woman had been married at Nyaguta, Rianyamwamu area in Kiogoro Sub Location Nyaribari Chache.
"We have gathered infromation that she was killed some few days ago. Her lover is alleged to have killed her in the compnay of three other people. We want the Government to carry out detailed investigations to ensure that the family gets justice."
Arasa said, the late had been collecting and spending all he money on a drinking spree. "We want to know what mistake she committed to deserve such a death."
He accused the local administration for allowing the sell of illicit within the area which is less than two kilometers away from Kisii Town CBD.
"The community is losing big to illicit brew. Chang'aa is becoming a menace in our community. Let us be told who is this killing our people? The suspects must be held accountable."
