KISII ELDERS ASK KING CHARLES TO APOLOGISE FOR ATROCITES COMMUNITY SUFFERED DURING COLONIAL ERA

The Abanyagetinge Council of Elders from Abagusii Community has demanded an apology from King Charles of the UK allerged atrocites against community during colonial period.According to George Nyakundi,the community's houses were demolished,their artefacts stolen and their leader's heads were preserved in the UK.

The community now wants visiting King Charles to build the museums,return the artefacts and heads of Gusii heroes.According to a statement made on KBC Channel 1,the council also asked the UK Government to build museums to preserve the history of their people.

George Nyakundi who is the chairman of the outfit,said that they want his majesty to build memorial centres and museums across the 16 Gusii subcounties.They also went to be compensated for the houses that were demolished by colonial askaris and heads of elders such as Otenyo Nyamaterere to be repatriated back to the country for a decent burial.

KISII ELDERS WANT THEIR YOUTH EDUCATED IN THE UK

Since many of our people were evicted,massacred and killed,their heads were taken to the UK.During the second World War,many of our youth were taken to fight in other countries but have never been accounted for.The council asked for the artefacts allegedly stolen from the community to be returned and for their youth to go for further education.Therefore,they asked president William Ruto to intervene in the matter.
