Kisii woman in shock after cracks develop around her land

A saddening incident occurred in Bokeira Nyamira county yesterday after house of Miriam Moraa collapsed due to the ongoing heavy rainfall. 

According to the reports, this incident got her unaware as she has been staying in that place for years now and nothing of such has ever happened. Miriam said she had a difficult time constructing the house hence urging the government to come to her rescue.

The primary cause was heavy rainfall that exceed the region's usual precipitation level. The excessive water accumulation saturated the soil, compromising its stability and resulting in the weakening of the house's foundation. Its importance to note that other factors like poor construction, poor drainage system, likely to contribute to the collapse of the house.

The incident has left deep emotional impact on the victim highlighting the urgent need for support. In order to prevent such incidents from reoccurring, effective measures that prioritize disaster should be taken into consideration.
