The police have launched a man hunt for a herder in Masiga after he reportedly chopped off te hand of his fellow. Francis Mithanga Muteti was severed during a dispute over grazing land on Monday, November 13.
According to the police report, when they arrived at the scene Muteti was bleeding excessively with deep cut wounds to the head and the left hand was completely chopped off at the wrist. The police further disclosed that the 27-year-old man's kin took the several arm in an attempt to have it re-attached surgically.
The victim was rushed to Gakuku Mission Hospital for treatment as the police initiated a comprehensive search for the other herder. His familly members insisted to proceed to the hospital with the part of the body that was cut off in order to try a surgical alternative. The police also found a panga that was suspected to be the weapon which was used in the attack and would be stored as an exhibit.
