MoH releases Young Medics in a Bold Healthcare Boost

The Ministry of Health has recently announced the deployment of 6,484 interns for the 2025/2026 Internship Cohort, starting on July 1, 2025.

This initiative aims to boost the healthcare system by nurturing a skilled workforce and providing hands-on experience to aspiring healthcare professionals.

In a statement by the Cabinet Secretary for Health Aden Duale, it was highlighted that the internship program is designed to ensure the timely placement of interns in various healthcare facilities across the country.

The interns will undergo a structured 12-month program that includes supervised clinical training and practical exposure in real healthcare settings.

The breakdown of the deployment includes Medical Officer Interns, Dentist Interns, Pharmacist Interns, BSc Clinical Officer Interns, Clinical Officer Interns (Diploma), and BSc Nursing Officer Interns.

Each intern will receive their posting letters in person at the Ministry of Health Headquarters in Nairobi on June 30, 2025.

It is essential for all pre-interns to present a valid National Identity Card to receive their posting letters promptly.

This process aims to ensure a smooth transition for interns as they prepare to serve in their designated facilities.

"This significant internship deployment signifies a crucial step towards enhancing healthcare delivery in the country and ensuring continued access to quality medical services for all," the statement from MOH says.
