MP Osoro, Donya clash with Simba Arati's wife in a fund drive at Kegati
MP Sylvanus Osoro and other Gusii leaders on Sunday graced a fundraising event at Bobaracho High School with a motive of raising funds for the construction of Kegati New Parish.
The majority WHIP, known for his steady advocacy for local development, was joined by Kisii’s first lady Kwamboka Arati, Kisii County Women Representative Hon. Donya Doris Toto, Area MP Zaheer Jhanda, Kitutu Chache North MP Japhet Nyakundi and other leaders who emphasized the importance of community cohesion and support for such noble causes.
The event drew an impressive gathering of local leaders and dignitaries, highlighting the collective effort to enhance the spiritual and social infrastructure of the region.
The county‘s first lady in her address, expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming support from the leaders and the community. She highlighted the critical role that the new Kegati Parish would play in serving the spiritual needs of the community while also acting as a center for various social and developmental activities.
"The Kegati Parish will not only be a place of worship but a beacon of hope and unity for the entire community," said Lady Simba. She called on all attendees to continue their support and commitment to ensuring the project's successful completion.
“I’m not in any political party. If you have any function of a church to help people which you couldn’t invite governor because of the political party, please invite me.” She added
MP Silvanus Osoro praised the initiative, noting that such community-driven projects are essential for sustainable development. "This is a testament to what we can achieve when we come together with a common purpose," he remarked.
Zaheer Jhanda echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the need for continuous support and collaboration among leaders to address the community's needs. "Our unity here today reflects our dedication to the betterment of our society," he added.
Hon. Donya Doris Toto, in her speech, highlighted the empowering effect of community projects, particularly for women and children. She urged the community to remain united and proactive in supporting developmental initiatives.
