Musalia Mudavadi Reaps Big in President Ruto's appointment

 President William Ruto has expanded Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi’s ministerial portfolio assigning him as Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary in his administration’s first Cabinet reshuffle.

Ruto’s Chief of Staff Felix Koskei announced on Wednesday that Mudavadi would replace Alfred Mutua who was deployed to the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife.The President shelved the Performance Management docket from the Prime Cabinet Secretary’s Office and assigned it to a reconstituted Ministry of Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management.He named Moses Kuria the Cabinet Secretary of the realigned public service docket assigning Aisha Jumwa the Ministry of Gender, Culture, the Arts and Heritage.

Ruto shelved the State Department Culture, the Arts and Heritage from Ababu Namwamba’s ministerial oversight, assigning it to Jumwa.The President deployed Malonza, who was in charge of the tourism docket, to EAC and ASALS and moved Rebecca Miano to the Ministry of Trade and Investments.Alice Wahome and Zachary Mwangi switched the Water and Lands dockets respectively.Mudavadi emphasized that leaders who skip presidential functions held in their respective regions risk isolating themselves development-wise by missing the opportunity to address the needs of their constituents.

Ruto also reassigned eight Principal Secretaries marking the second time he has reorganized leadership at the State Department level.He named Hassan Kello Principal Secretary in charge of ASALs and Rehional Development, Julius Korir (Water and Sanitation) and assigned Geoffrey Kaituko the Shipping and Maritime Affairs docket.The Head of State moved Shadrack Mwadime to the State Department of Labour and Skills Development while naming Paul Ronoh the PS for Crop Development.He assigned Salim Dakota, Anne Wang’ombe and Veronica Nduva the Cabinet Affairs, Gender and Affirmative Action, and Performance and Delivery Management dockets respectively.
