Raila Odinga declared his intention to retire on his own time, telling off politicians pressuring him to take a step back from active politics
He said that when the right time comes, he would retire without seeking anybody's permission and live peacefully with his neighbours in Bondo

The former prime minister has been under pressure from political nemesis and friends to call it quits on active politics with some suggesting he should appoint a successor.
He said this, in his Bondo backyard, that he would retire at his own time. "I know we'll get to where we want to go. Many people have been quick to say that they want to take me to Bondo. I told them I am the one who knows the route to Bondo. This is my home, and I know it better than anyone else" he said
