PRESIDENT UHURU KENYATTA EXTENDS CURFEW FOR 60 DAYS
President Uhuru Kenyatta has extended the 10pm-4am curfew for a further 60 days.

President Uhuru Kenyatta as extended the nationwide curfew for another 60 days. The announcement came after a closed-door meeting with opposition leaders with the health cabinet secretary Mr Kagwe in attendance.
Other containment measures including all physical and in-person gathering and meetings such as political rallies and campaigns have also been suspended for a further 60 days.

The president further directed all other gatherings including weddings and funeral ceremonies to strictly adhere to the 100-person attendance limit.
The measures according to the head of state are meant to contain the spread of covid 19 with cases rising each day; by yesterday the pandemic and already claimed 4,378 lives from 224,400 confirmed cases.
“In particular,18 counties have reported a positive rate of above 20% and over the last week the following Counties have recorded the positivity rate of above 30%: Kiambu, Murang’a, Makueni, Machakos, Baringo, Meru and Nyeri,” President Uhuru said.
Deputy President William Ruto, ODM leader Raila odinga, Wiper Party leader kalonzo musyoka and ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi are among political leaders who have been faulting the ministry of health guidelines.
