President Ruto reshuffles his cabinet
Cabinet reshuffle occurs when a head of government rotates or changes the composition of ministers in their cabinet. Kenyan president William Ruto shuffled his cabinet one year after he assumed office. The president did the process on Wednesday 4/10/2023 where he reshuffled eight members of his cabinet. He has done this for the first time where some Cabinet secretaries like Musalia Mudavadi were added more responsibilities.
Will the reshuffling of cabinets by the president optimise performance and enhance delivery as set out in the manifesto? This is the question that will be answered later by the commitment and actions of the current Cabinet towards their responsibilities. The affected ministers are; Hon. Musalia Mudavadi, EGH-Office of the prime cabinet secretary and Ministry and Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Ms. Rebecca Miano, MBS-Ministry of Investiments Trade and Industry, Hon. Alice M. Wahome- Ministry of Lands, Public works, Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Zacharia Mwangi Njeru- Ministry of Water Sanitation and Irrigation, Hon. Peninah Malonza, OGW-Ministry of East Africa Community, The ASAVs and Regonal Development, Hon.(Dr) Alfred N. Mutua,EGH-Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife, Hon.Moses K.Kuria,HSC-Miniatry of Public Service,Performance and Delivery Management, Hon.Aisha Jumwa K. Katana-Ministry of Gender,Culture and Arts and Heritage.
There had been romours that there will be reshuffling of Cabinet Secretaries placed in different ministries. According to religious leaders,t he president must have a very good reason as to why he did the reshuffle. They wish him well since it is in his powers to do so. They also believe that the president must have assessed the previous ministers the prime reason for the reshuffle.
