Stop using the Youths to disrupt developmental meetings- Hon. Wycliffe Siocha
A meeting organized by Hon. Wycliffe Siocha Onyara, commonly known as Embande, the County Assembly member for Ichuni Ward in Nyaribari Masaba Constituency, was disrupted by armed youths believed to be supporters of Hon. Manduku, the Member of Parliament for Nyaribari Masaba Constituency.
According to Siocha, the meeting was intended to gather public opinions on the construction of affordable housing. Speaking to reporters, Siocha condemned the use of goons to disrupt his developmental meetings.
"Our ancestors entrusted us with their Ekerubo land for the benefit of future generations. The affordable housing projects being proposed will not benefit our people. This is community land that is being stolen indirectly," Siocha stated.
Siocha urged the residents of Ichuni Ward to support him in championing the development of the ward, including the construction of schools, colleges, and hospitals, rather than affordable housing, which he described as "land grabbing by the government."
He also criticized the use of armed youth to interrupt his developmental meetings, calling it unacceptable and a hindrance to progress. Siocha appealed to Hon. Manduku to focus on his parliamentary duties and, if unable to fulfill his role, to step down.
"I appeal to Hon. Manduku to allow our MCA the time and space to work for us," said one member of the public.
Residents also urged the MP to stop using unelected representatives like Nyamweya. They called on Manduku to collaborate with the MCA for the betterment of the community and to respect both his office and that of the MCA.
