Chaos reportedly erupted in Ritongo, Gesima Ward, Nyamira County, during the opening of new Jubilee Party offices after some attendees protested over allegedly being blocked from signing the visitors’ book.
Footage shared online shows a tense situation, with disagreements reportedly arising after some leaders were labelled as moles within the party and allegedly prevented from signing the visitors’ book. During the confrontation, officials and attendees were reportedly injured, while some phones were also lost.
The incident raises questions about Jubilee’s internal unity, particularly as the party prepares to back its presidential candidate, Dr. Fred Matiang’i, in the upcoming elections. With cracks emerging even before party nominations, can Jubilee present a united front and deliver for Matiang’i?
