The families of the two PP2 girls who were defiled and murdered two weeks ago are preparing to give them their final farewell, as grief continues to engulf relatives, friends, classmates, and the wider community.
On Wednesday evening, mourners gathered for a candlelight vigil to honour the lives of the two young girls and demand justice for the horrific crime. Family members, friends, classmates, and local residents took part in the emotional ceremony, remembering the girls while standing in solidarity with their bereaved families.

According to Vincent Kerosi, the first cousin of the late Ann Bahati, the vigil began at Iterio before mourners held a peaceful procession to Ann Bahati's home. He said the event was organized to celebrate the girls' lives, comfort the grieving families, and renew calls for swift justice.
Preparations for the final send-off are now in the final stages. Today, the bodies of the two girls are being moved from the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary to Suneka Market for a public viewing. They will then be taken to their school, where fellow pupils, teachers, and staff will have an opportunity to pay their last respects.
After the school tribute, each family will take their child's body home for separate funeral services, in accordance with their respective family wishes, before the girls are laid to rest on Friday.
Ann Bahati will be buried at her family home in Suneka, while Stacy will be laid to rest at her home in Itungu.
Despite the immense pain of their loss, both families have remained united in demanding justice. They have appealed to the relevant authorities to ensure that those responsible for the girls' deaths are arrested, prosecuted, and held fully accountable.
As they prepare to bid their daughters a final farewell, the families say they hope the tragedy will strengthen efforts to protect children from sexual and gender-based violence and ensure that no other family experiences such a devastating loss.
