The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has scheduled the rehearsals for all Form Four candidates. The sessions will familiarise students with examination centres, rules and procedures ahead of the official start of the exams.
Oral, aural and practical papers will begin on Monday, October 19. Written papers with large candidature will follow from early November, with the examination period expected to run until November 20.
Most schools are set to close this week for non-candidate learners. According to the Ministry of Education calendar, the third term ends around October 23, allowing examination centres to focus fully on the KCSE process.
More than one million candidates have registered for the 2026 KCSE, the first time the number has crossed the one-million mark. KNEC will deploy over 340,000 contracted professionals, including centre managers, supervisors, invigilators and security officers, to oversee the exercise.
Centre managers and supervisors have already begun attending mandatory briefings on examination administration and security protocols.
Examination materials will be stored in secure containers with restricted access times, and papers will be packaged in colour-coded cartons for morning and afternoon sessions.
