A passenger has died after suffering a medical emergency aboard a Kenya Airways flight from Nairobi to Lagos.
Kenya Airways said the incident happened on Tuesday night, October 6, 2026, shortly before the aircraft landed at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
According to the airline, the passenger became unresponsive at about 9:20 p.m. Nigerian time, prompting the crew to provide first aid and follow the required emergency procedures.
The aircraft landed safely at the Lagos airport at about 9:41 p.m., where medical personnel attended to the passenger and confirmed the death.
Kenya Airways said it is supporting the passenger’s family and is cooperating with relevant authorities and aviation regulators as investigations continue.
The airline has not released the passenger’s identity or confirmed the cause of death.
Reports from Nigeria have also raised questions about the passenger’s behaviour before the medical emergency, but the circumstances surrounding the death remain under investigation.
Authorities are expected to establish what led to the passenger’s medical emergency and death.
