The gruesome find occurred along the banks of the Iyabe River in the Kerina area of Kisii South Subcounty. Police confirmed the limb was a decomposed left human leg that had been wrapped in a red biohazard bag and appeared to have been severed with a sharp object. Officers processed the scene, recovered the remains including part of the foot and transferred them to the mortuary at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital for preservation, identification, and postmortem examination.

“Today a leg was discovered in this river as well. There have been cases like some days back we discovered hospital needles and hospital equipments as well. Children swimming as well discovered another leg and the police came and took the leg,” the resident said.
