A massive church auditorium being constructed by Living Faith Church Worldwide, popularly known as Winners’ Chapel, in Nigeria is nearing completion, drawing attention because of its enormous capacity and scale.
Known as The Ark, the auditorium is located at Canaanland in Ota, Ogun State. The facility is designed to accommodate approximately 109,000 worshippers, making it one of the largest purpose-built church auditoriums in the world.
Church founder Bishop David Oyedepo has said the facility includes 126 escalators, 29 elevators and 20 chillers, highlighting the scale of the infrastructure required to serve tens of thousands of worshippers.
The church has also reportedly procured seats for the 109,000-capacity auditorium, while remaining work focuses on final installations and other preparations.
The project attracted further attention after a planned dedication in November 2025 was postponed. Oyedepo said the delay was intended to allow the church to complete the necessary engineering and architectural requirements.
The Ark forms part of the wider development at Canaanland, which serves as the headquarters of Living Faith Church Worldwide.
While the facility is frequently described as the “world’s largest church,” the more precise description is that it is a 109,000-seat church auditorium and one of the world's largest purpose-built worship venues.
The project has become another example of the growing scale of religious infrastructure in Nigeria, where several megachurches have invested heavily in large worship centres capable of hosting tens of thousands of people.
As construction approaches completion, attention is now turning to when The Ark will officially open its doors to worshippers and host its first major services.
