Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) has recorded a 13.08 per cent increase in net profit for the financial year ended June 2026, even as the amount set aside for shareholder dividends declined.

The company's net profit rose to Sh11.58 billion, up from Sh10.24 billion reported in the previous financial year, reflecting improved financial performance.

Revenue also increased by 8.78 per cent to Sh42.98 billion, supported by growth in petroleum transportation volumes through its pipeline network.

Despite the strong performance, KPC reduced its total dividend payout to Sh5.81 billion from Sh5.9 billion in the previous year. The dividend was set at Sh0.32 per share.

The lower payout comes as the company seeks to retain more funds to support infrastructure development and expansion plans.

KPC has outlined investments aimed at increasing petroleum storage capacity and extending its pipeline network towards Kampala, Uganda, and Kigali, Rwanda.

The planned investments are expected to strengthen the company's regional petroleum transportation role and support growing demand for fuel across East Africa.

The financial results come after KPC's listing on the Nairobi Securities Exchange, marking a new chapter for the state-linked energy infrastructure company and its shareholders.

The rise in profits alongside a lower dividend payout highlights the company's decision to balance shareholder returns with the need to finance long-term expansion projects.

Investors will be watching how the planned investments affect the company's future earnings and dividend payments.
