LEEDS RUN RIOT AS NEWCASTLE SUFFER HEAVY 4-1 DEFEAT, JAISSLE HANDED FIRST LOSS.

A rapid first-half burst sealed the contest. In the 32nd minute, Ao Tanaka’s shot from the edge of the box took successive deflections off Sean Steur and Lewis Miley, looping past goalkeeper Lukas Hornicek for an own goal that gave Leeds the lead. His side struggled to cope with Leeds’ pressing and physical style, managing only limited threat until Touré’s late effort. The German coach will face scrutiny after the heavy reverse at Elland Road, where Leeds recorded 16 attempts to Newcastle’s fewer opportunities.

The win continues Leeds’ impressive early-season momentum under Farke and positions them firmly in the early race for European places, sitting just four points behind leaders Arsenal. Newcastle must regroup quickly as they look to recover from a night that exposed defensive frailties and a lack of midfield control.
