Netflix has secured exclusive streaming rights to all 104 matches of the 2030 FIFA World Cup in Spain and Andorra, marking a major expansion of the streaming platform into live sports broadcasting.

The agreement, announced on October 13, 2026, will give Netflix subscribers in the two countries access to every match of the tournament, which will be hosted primarily by Spain, Portugal and Morocco.

Under the arrangement, Netflix will also make one match per matchday available free to viewers in Spain, widening access to the competition.

However, traditional television broadcasting will retain a role. A national broadcaster in Spain will air all matches involving the Spanish national team, both semi-finals and the final. The broadcaster is yet to be announced.

The 2030 tournament will mark 100 years since the inaugural FIFA World Cup, held in Uruguay in 1930.

Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay will host centenary celebration matches before the competition moves to its principal host countries.

The agreement highlights the growing competition between streaming platforms and traditional broadcasters for major sporting events, as companies seek to attract audiences through exclusive live content.

Netflix has increasingly expanded into live programming, including sports and entertainment events, as it seeks to strengthen its position in the global streaming market.
The financial terms of the 2030 World Cup agreement have not been publicly disclosed.

The deal applies to Spain and Andorra and does not give Netflix exclusive broadcasting rights worldwide. Rights in other markets will be determined through separate arrangements.
