More than 3,600 litres of illicit brew have been seized and destroyed during a multi-agency operation targeting illegal alcohol production in Marsabit County.
The operation, conducted on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, brought together officers from the National Police Service (NPS), National Government Administrative Officers (NGAO) and the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA).
The crackdown targeted several areas identified as hotspots for illicit brewing, including Nagayo, Sagante and Badasa locations in Marsabit Central and Sagante-Jaldesa sub-counties.
According to the National Police Service, officers dismantled several illegal brewing dens and destroyed more than 3,660 litres of illicit alcohol. Various equipment and materials used in the production of the brew were also seized.
The operation forms part of ongoing efforts by security and government agencies to curb the production and distribution of illicit alcohol in the county.
Authorities have warned individuals involved in the illegal manufacture, distribution and sale of illicit alcohol that they will face legal action.
