Kenya’s national men’s rugby sevens team, Shujaa, has been challenged to carry its winning momentum from Mauritius into the 28th Safari Sevens tournament in Nairobi.
Shujaa arrive at the competition after being crowned Africa Men’s Sevens champions in Mauritius, where they defeated Madagascar 15–12 in the final.
The continental victory has raised expectations ahead of the Safari Sevens, which will be held at Nyayo Stadium from October 9 to 11, 2026.
Kenya will be seeking to build on its recent success and defend its Safari Sevens title on home soil.
The three-day tournament is expected to bring together 18 teams, providing Shujaa with an opportunity to continue their strong run while giving local fans a chance to watch the continental champions in action.
With the Africa title secured, attention now shifts to Nairobi, where Shujaa will be expected to maintain their momentum and deliver another strong performance in front of home supporters.
