France enter the last-four clash as one of the tournament's standout teams, winning five of their six matches and drawing one. Didier Deschamps' side has conceded just one goal throughout the competition while keeping four clean sheets, underlining the solidity provided by goalkeeper Mike Maignan, who has been instrumental in France's run.
Captain Kylian Mbappé has once again lived up to his billing, leading the Golden Boot race with eight goals. The French skipper has spearheaded victories over Senegal (3-1), Iraq (3-0), Norway (4-1), Sweden (3-0), Paraguay (1-0), and Morocco (2-0), taking his side to yet another World Cup semi-final.
France's attacking brilliance has also been fueled by Michael Olise, who leads the tournament in assists with five in six matches, forming a devastating partnership with Mbappé in the final third.
Spain, however, arrive with an equally impressive résumé. La Roja remain unbeaten after recording four wins and one draw, conceding only one goal on their road to the semi-finals.
Luis de la Fuente's men began with a goalless draw against Cape Verde before defeating Saudi Arabia (4-0), Uruguay (1-0), Austria (3-0), Portugal (1-0), and Belgium (2-1) to secure their place among the final four.
Spain's attack has been led by Mikel Oyarzabal, who has scored four goals, while midfielder Mikel Merino emerged as the hero in the quarter-final by netting the decisive late winner against Belgium.
The semi-final promises a fascinating tactical battle between two sides built on defensive discipline and attacking quality. France boast the tournament's most prolific scorer in Mbappé and its leading assist provider in Olise, while Spain have relied on a balanced team performance and clinical finishing in key moments.
With a place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final at stake, all eyes will be on whether Mbappé can continue his scoring streak or if Spain can overcome the French giants to keep their title hopes alive.
