Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso has outlined his vision for the club, stressing the importance of unity, ambition and long-term success as he begins his tenure at Stamford Bridge.

In his first official interview, Alonso said he is determined to work closely with the club's sporting directors, players and coaching staff to build a competitive team capable of challenging for major honours.
"I want to be part of this club, working together with the sporting directors, the players and the staff around me in Cobham. We want to create excitement in the team, build a strong bond with the supporters, win games and be successful," Alonso said.
He added that Chelsea already have a strong foundation and vowed to continue building a squad capable of competing at the highest level.
Addressing speculation surrounding midfielder Enzo Fernández, Alonso dismissed suggestions that the Argentine could leave, revealing he wants the World Cup winner to remain at the club.
"We've spoken, and I want to keep him at the club," he said.
The Spaniard also praised England international Cole Palmer, describing him as one of the squad's standout talents.
"Cole has a special talent, and we're looking to get the very best out of him," Alonso said.
On Alejandro Garnacho, who has been linked with several clubs, Alonso acknowledged the ongoing transfer interest and said the club hopes to reach an outcome that benefits everyone involved.

"With interest coming from several clubs, we hope the outcome will be the best decision for both the player and the club," he stated.
Alonso also confirmed that striker Nicolas Jackson will be part of Chelsea's pre-season tour of Asia.
"Nico Jackson is joining us for the tour in Asia, and we're looking forward to working with him," he said.
The new Chelsea boss is expected to lead the Blues into the new campaign with a renewed focus on rebuilding the squad and restoring the club's competitiveness in domestic and European competitions.
