MCA Nyambega Gisesa launches borehole project to provide clean drinking water

In a significant step towards ensuring access to clean drinking water, Nyamira County has initiated a project to dig boreholes across various locations. This initiative is expected to address the longstanding water scarcity issues in the region and improve the quality of life for many residents.

The announcement was made during a community meeting in Bocharia, where local leaders, including the Rigoma Member of County Assembly (MCA), Nyambega Gisesa, spoke about the project's goals and progress.

A dedicated committee has been established to oversee the borehole digging and manage the water supply system. This committee will handle all logistics, from site selection to maintenance and distribution, ensuring the project runs smoothly and sustainably.

Nyambega Gisesa emphasized the importance of this initiative for the local communities. He highlighted that residents of Rikenye, Bocharia, Kierira, and Magwero villages are the primary beneficiaries of the first phase of the project. The announcement was met with enthusiasm and relief from the local populace, who have long struggled with limited access to clean water.

The residents expressed their gratitude to Gisesa and his team, acknowledging the positive impact this project will have on their daily lives. Many community members thanked Gisesa for his efforts and urged him to continue fulfilling other promises made during his tenure.

This project marks a significant milestone in Gisesa's commitment to improving infrastructure and public services in Rigoma. The borehole project is part of a broader strategy by the Nyamira County government to enhance water accessibility and sanitation.

By providing reliable sources of clean water, the county aims to reduce water-borne diseases and promote better health among its residents. Moreover, the availability of clean water is expected to boost local agriculture, contributing to food security and economic stability in the region.
