Man attacked, killed by fake tree buyers in Amasago, Kisii

Police have launched a manhunt in Amasago located in Nyaribari Chache Kisii County after one mason got attacked and killed yesterday by men who pretended to be tree buyers.

According to the family, the unknown men arrived at the deceased’s home who was a house builder yesterday morning and asked the man to accompany them to a private place where they were to have an exclusive conversation on purchasing the trees.

These impostors showed up minutes after the man was done taking his kids to school.

Few minutes after the family head accompanied the men, the wife had ‘screams for help’ from the place where his husband was having a private talk with the strange men.

His wife explains that she rushed there only to find his husband shirtless lying on a pool of blood dead. The man had deep cuts in his back and some on palms of his hands.

While addressing the media, one of the chief’s men argued that cases of insecurity were recurring in the area making the residents to live in fear. He went ahead to call the relevant authorities for immediate intervention.

The police arrived at the scene and took the body to the morgue as the investigation kicked off.
