Kemera: Missing man found dead, wrapped in a sack, thrown in a river in Kisii

A middle aged man who was reported missing a week ago in Motembe village in Kemera Nyamira has been found wrapped in a sack then thrown into a river in Nyaguta Nyaribari chache.

The man identified as Thomas Machini left his home last week and told his wife that he’s visiting the local liquor vendor to have some good times before coming back.

“It was around 3pm and we talked to each other. It was about to rain. We roasted some maize before he dressed up heavily for the upcoming rain and told me he was set to drink alcohol worth Ksh. 50 before coming back home” said the late’s wife.

The deportee’s wife added that his husband promised to be back at 8pm. little did she knew that was the last time she saw him.

“He said that he’ll be home before 8pm. I called him at around 7.30pm but his phone was not going through” uttered Machini’s wife.

The wife together with other family members pleaded with the authorities to conduct investigations and ensure their kin get justice.

“I’m pleading for the government to help in getting justice for my late husband. He was very humble and hardworking in the farm” cried Mrs. Machini.

Area chief Robert Mekenye emphasized on dialogue and understanding with each other whenever people engage in wrangles.

“When faced with misunderstandings or disagreements, it's crucial to remember that resorting to taking matters into your own hands can often lead to further complications and escalate the situation. Instead, I advise exercising patience, open communication, and a willingness to listen and understand the perspectives of others” noted Mr. Robert Mekenye.

Kemera MCA James Mating’a also asked the authorities to hasten the investigations and ensure the perpetrators are brought to book.

The body of Mr. Thomas Machini is currently resting at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital.
