Nyamira women Rep, Jerusha Momanyi gives sanitary towels to young girls in Gesima ward

On Monday, Nyamira County Women Representative, Honorable Jerusha Mong'ina Momanyi (Ntogoro), organized a significant community event at Nyabiosi field in Gesima Ward, Bogetutu Masaba Constituency. This initiative was aimed at supporting young girls and engaging the youth in constructive activities, thus addressing pressing issues in the community.

In a heartfelt gesture, Hon.Jerusha distributed sanitary towels to young girls from the area. This initiative was motivated by the desire to ensure that these girls do not miss school due to lack of menstrual hygiene products. By providing sanitary towels,she aims to eliminate one of the barriers to education for girls, promoting their attendance and participation in school without facing stigma or shame.

"The provision of sanitary towels is a crucial step in supporting our young girls' education," Hon. Jerusha remarked. "We want them to attend school regularly and achieve their academic goals without being hindered by issues that are easily addressable."

Hon. Jerusha also addressed the needs of the youth by donating footballs to local clubs and aspiring players. This move is part of her broader strategy to engage the youth in positive and productive activities. By promoting sports, she hopes to divert the youth from engaging in harmful practices and behaviors that have led to unfortunate incidents and loss of lives in the community.
