Help us with water tanks, appeals Gekong'o Secondary school.
Water issues have been troubling many schools, particularly in developing areas. This concern prompted Lukas Maburi, the principal of Gekong'o Secondary School in Sengera, Bomachoge Chache constituency, to address the issue on Monday. Along with the parents, he appealed to Kisii County Woman Representative Doris Aburi for assistance with water tanks to harvest rainwater.
"My name is Lukas Maburi, Principal of Gekong'o 2 DB Secondary School, located in Bomachoge Chache Constituency, Kenyenya Sub-county. We are appealing because the abundant rainwater we receive is going to waste. We want to harvest this water for student use. We request Hon. Doris Aburi to help us with water tanks," Mr. Maburi said.
Mr. Maburi also noted that Hon. Doris Aburi had promised to visit the school and assist them, as she has been helping other schools in the area. He expressed his gratitude for her ongoing efforts. The parents echoed the principal's concerns, highlighting the increase in student numbers and the resulting water shortage. Students are forced to fetch water from long distances, and they urged Hon. Aburi to provide at least five water tanks to support their needs.
