THE DEMISE OF PRESIDENT EBRAHIM RAISI,IRAN.
The government of iran has made a state announcement that the Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi has passed on following the helicopters crash in the Nothern part of Iran caused by the heavy fog in the mountainous region. The president was accompanied by the country's foreign minister and the seven others who were also pronounced dead.
According to the Iran's constitution the country has upto to 50 days to elect another president.The flags are to be raised half way and the news papers to have the incidences' coverage for 5 days so as to mourn their president.
President William Ruto is among the African leaders who have eulogized the death of President Raisi. In his condolence message he describes President Raisi as a fearless and dedicated leader who sought to elevate Iran's standing on the global stage.
The head of state indicated that Kenya and iran share cordial relation signified by the fact that Raisi chose kenya as his first destination to the african continent as a president last year july.
The death of President Raisi was was confirmed in a government statement early on monday. In his political journey Raisi first ran for presidency in 2017 but failed.He was eventually elected in 2021 until his time of death as it was regarded as a natural successor of the supreme leader Ali.
July last year president William ruto hosted his counter part Raisi as he came to his African tour as he aimed at boosting the Iran's economy with African nations.
