FIRE RAZES ITUMBE TRADING CENTRE, TRADERS COUNT LOSSES
Fire incident at Itumbe Trading Center causes significant property damage, residents urge government action.

A section of traders from Itumbe Trading Center are in pain after losing their valuables of unknown amount after the fire razed down the market.
While recounting the ordeal, residents claim that the fire broke out at around 6.30 in the morning with their efforts to put the fire growing futile.
However, thevictims put the blame on the Kisii County government for a delayed deployment of the firefighting team.
They plead with the county government to build a fire fighting station near that center to help in case of future occurrences of such fires. The area MCA John Sambo and his counterpart Swanya Ondari while calling for an investigation to establish the cause of the fire, acknowledged the residents' unity as they worked together to put out the fire.
