Police were on Sunday, 5th May 2024 forced to lob teargas to restore calm after UDA and ODM leaders differed politically in a church event in Bomachoge Borabu in Kisii County.

A good number of P.A.G worshippers had gathered at Etono's P.A.G on Sunday afternoon for a fund drive that was aimed to help five P.A.G churches in the region. Several political leaders were invited for the same event where South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro was the main guest.

MP Sylvanus Osoro led the UDA party team, while Obadiah Barongo who was the host and his counterpart who is the Kitutu Chache South Member of Parliament Antony Kibagendi represented the ODM team.

The chaos erupted and escalated after the political leaders tagged along their political differences to the pulpit. The political temperatures kept rising after these leaders got a strong back up from their youth supporters who started heckling the Opposing parties.

Kitutu Chache MP Antony Kibagendi’s speech was interrupted the moment he started criticizing the UDA lawmakers present and threatening to disrupt the meeting and that’s how rampage was ignited.

P.A.G National Secretary general Richard Obwoge, expressed his displeasure regarding the ill image portrayed by the politicians saying they should respect God and they should be they should have come to give them money only.
