"Elect Corruption free, Propaganda free and good directors" Oriok asks Bassi Zone tea farmers.

With only 15 days remaining until the election of tea farming directors scheduled for June 28, 2024, tea farmers from the Bassi Central Zone are urging their fellow farmers to be cautious in electing directors who will advance tea farming.

According to them, the former directors did not benefit the farmers but instead caused them to lose their wealth in unclear ways.

Speaking to Getembe TV, Kennedy Oriok, chairman of the Nyamache/Itumbe factory, appealed to those seeking the director's seat to conduct their campaigns without resorting to corrupt practices such as buying IDs.

"I want to request the farmers of Bassi Central that every farmer has their right to seek the seat. In the past three years that I have been in office, I have done what it takes to advance our tea farming for the benefit of the farmers. So, what I'm trying to say is that let the seeking and voting for the directorship seat be peaceful and free from propaganda," Oriok said.

Oriok also encouraged farmers from the Bassi zone not to elect directors who spread propaganda about other contestants or disparage them. He added that leaders who genuinely care about tea farming and approach the role with integrity should be elected.
