Family Appeal For Help After Disease Strike Mother, Daughter

A family from Botana village in Gesima Ward, Kitutu Masaba Constituency, Nyamira County, is requesting help due to a long-term illness that has greatly troubled them. Asnath Kwamboka Onyiego has pleaded for assistance after an illness led to the amputation of one of her legs. She is now struggling to care for her eight-year-old child, who has a disability.

Asnath explained how her illness began: "I was born and raised well. I got married and gave birth to my two children while I was in good health. In 2013, I developed an illness in my leg. I was ill for a long time and sought treatment in many hospitals until the doctors said the only solution was to amputate my leg."

Since the amputation in June 2013, Asnath has been using crutches to walk. She stated that her relatives, friends, and siblings, who used to help her, have stopped due to the high cost of living.

Asnath also has an eighteen-year-old child who cannot speak or walk. She finds it very difficult to carry her child without help. Neighbors have confirmed that Asnath struggles to take care of herself and her child, a situation that urgently needs addressing.

Due to her inability to support herself and her child, Asnath is requesting help to obtain an artificial leg. She is appealing to leaders from Nyamira County, including the Member of County Assembly of Gesima Ward, Hon. Kenneth Atuti Nyameino, Member of Parliament Hon. Clive Ombane Gisairo, and County Governor Hon. Amos Nyaribo, as well as any other leaders who may hear her story, to come to her aid.

"To my listeners across Kenya who have heard this story, I am yearning for help. I am requesting an artificial leg to ease my movement. It has been a big problem to move or do anything. If I get an artificial leg, I could help myself. To my leaders, wherever you are—governor, MP, senator, MCA—please help me," Asnath appealed.

Her neighbors also urged leaders to reach out to the family: "You can visit and help her.The neighbors also urged the leaders to reach out to this family and assist them: "You can visit. The leaders I have mentioned before, like our governor Amos Nyaribo, MCA Kenneth Atuti, MP Clive Ombane Gisairo, and all leaders from all areas, should help her," said a neighbor.

Asnath Kwamboka and her husband Godfrey Onyiego have requested help to care for their disabled child and to obtain an artificial leg for Asnath, which would enable her to resume her daily activities.
