Kisii County Women Rep Brings Donya Charity Mission to Bonchari
In a continued effort to support the disabled community, Hon. Donya Toto, the Women Representative of Kisii County, visited Kerina in Bonchari to advance her Donya Charity Mission.
The event saw the distribution of wheelchairs to disabled members of the community, providing them with essential mobility aids to help them with their daily activities.
The Donya Charity Mission, a long-standing initiative led by Hon. Toto, focuses on improving the lives of vulnerable groups within Kisii County. This recent event in Kerina is part of a broader campaign to ensure that disabled individuals are not left behind in the county's development agenda.
During the ceremony, Hon. Toto emphasized the importance of inclusivity and the need for society to support all its members, regardless of their physical abilities.
"Empowering disabled individuals with mobility aids such as wheelchairs not only enhances their independence but also enables them to contribute more effectively to their families and the community at large," she said.
The beneficiaries of the wheelchairs expressed profound gratitude, highlighting how the donations would significantly improve their quality of life. Many shared their struggles with mobility and how these new wheelchairs would allow them to pursue educational, economic, and social opportunities that were previously inaccessible.
Hon. Toto's initiative aligns with her broader vision of a more inclusive and supportive Kisii County, where every individual has the opportunity to thrive. The Donya Charity Mission also includes other programs such as educational support, healthcare initiatives, and economic empowerment projects.
This event in Kerina is one of many planned across Kisii County, as Hon. Toto and her team continue their mission to uplift and support the marginalized and disabled.
