Shock as man locked in the house for six months by his 'jeshi' brother

A family from Mwamogesa village is now appealing for help from the government. According to residents, led by Zachariah Onyiego, an elderly man has been sick in his house for almost six years without receiving any treatment. The residents also report that the sick man's brother, a soldier (mwanajeshi), has been preventing anyone from seeing the sick man or making plans to take him to the hospital.

"I have been wondering about his courage," said the sick man's son. "My uncle, the last born, like me—there was a time my aunties asked me to come and see him, and he nearly killed me after I asked about him. Now you have done an important thing that has made me come here. Nobody comes to see this man. And it is not a joke, he is dangerous. If you joke with him, he might kill you." Said the son of the sick man.

The sick man's son also condemned his uncle's actions, accusing him of bringing a sick man and keeping him in the house while denying the family a chance to see him or take him to the hospital. The family mentioned that they were told their father was taken to America, and they never knew he was sick or that he had been kept in the house by his brother.

The brother, who has been keeping the sick man in the house, claimed that they have been giving him medicine. He also noted that the sick man had stopped eating as usual, which led to his weight loss. He defended his actions by stating that he has been denying anyone a chance to see him because visitors would not bring medicine. The brother also denied that his sibling has been sick for six years, calling that claim propaganda.
