Contractor was biased In Road Construction Project in Tabaka, Family Cries

A family from Bomware village in Tabaka ward, South Mugirango constituency, Kisii county, has complained about unknown individuals who destroyed their iron sheet fence, causing them significant loss. They also raised concerns about the construction of Ogecha road, stating it is not being built according to the agreement made during the public consultation.

Residents are particularly upset that the road has encroached on a large portion of an orphan's land, leaving other lands untouched. The community is requesting their area member of the County Assembly, Hon. Jimmy Kenyanya, to intervene and assist. They have also appealed to the county governor, Hon. Simba Arati, to help them secure their rights.

"We were not present when they started digging the road. Later, we discovered they had encroached on the orphan's land, deviating from the designated road area and leaving only a small portion of land. People wondered if the road was being built or if it was an encroachment on someone's land," said resident John Nyamboga.

Residents also noted that the road engineer was absent during the construction, and only tractor operators were present. These operators began uprooting logs, and when one log could not be removed, the tractor operator lost the intended route and started digging on land where the road was not supposed to pass.
